Penciling with Hayden

Hi everyone! I hope you got a chance to visit ladmatic.com and see the changes. Yes, lately I've slacked on the digital stuff in favor of the good old traditional material. I certainly enjoy pencil and charcoal much more these days than I used to. This is Hayden Panettiere from Heroes better known as Clair. I also drew Christina Milian and Megan Fox. I'll upload those later. In the meantime enjoy!

Charcoal Alexis

Greetings everyone. I've got some traditional work for ya today....good ole' charcoal. The reference was an image of Alexis Bledel, most known from Gilmore Girls. No, I don't watch the show but my sister does and she thought it would be a nice subject. I went for it and I'm glad I did. I have a much better understanding of charcoal than I've ever had. Funny how all this stuff starts to click after college. I guess cause my hunger for art knowledge is much higher these days. Anyway, enjoy hopefully it won't be so long for my next update.

The King...

Hello everyone! I've got something different this time. That's right I've got a little fan art from my favorite video game series of all-time Super Smash Bros! I love Smash Bros Brawl and I love King Dedede so I chose to illustrate him and his companions. Drawing game characters was one of my original inspirations as a child, so it felt good to do so again after so long. Anyhow enjoy! The purpose of this one was to serve as a wallpaper so feel free to use it if you wish.

26

I'm back. Things have been crazy for a while, mostly cause I've been doing the Staples thing full time. The past couple of weeks it's been the graveyard shift :S. Anyway, I'm back with a brand new self portrait. This time I was influenced by the likes of Rembrandt. I like the dark mood and single light source so I implemented that into mine. Enjoy!

"She Wonders"

Hello everyone thanks for visiting. It took until the end of March to make a March post but anyways here ya go! This is my first successful profile painting. I had a great reference photograph from deviant art. http://neriah-stock.deviantart.com/

I have been doing some portrait work, trying to develop what I would call a LADmatic Portrait. When I find it I'll post. Cya.

Move Out

I wanna move out. I want to be where there are more like me (artistically minded) and more opportunities in art. My biggest problem with it is my lack of funds. I can transfer anywhere with my current job but that won't be enough for me to support myself. It would be wonderful if I could have a roommate. That would get me over the hump. Anyone out there looking for a roomie, lol? Anyways here's a sketch I did today..err yesterday now. I love portraiture type pieces so that's my reasoning for this one. Plus, I was really looking for an excuse to work on anything other than that Pepper project eeeek! The Pepper project is actually coming along good now after many revisions. Maybe I can have it done tomorrow for posting. Peace.

Red Dress

I've got a sketch for you today! I started on it immediately after watching one of Jason Chan's tutorial videos. I did take a slight different than normal. I'm really happy with some parts others not so much but not bad for no reference.

Andrea Portrait

Hi there. After a number of bad portraits without reference, I decided I'd redeem myself by doing one from photo reference. Ahhh much better! I hope to one day draw more believable, made-up people. The final result doesn't resemble the model exactly but I still like it.

More Artist Downs

Thanks for reading. I've been feeling down and inspired about my art lately. Down, because those old feelings of confusion (Do I really want to do this?) keep surfacing. Happens mostly when I'm doing a sketch and it looks bad. Other times it's when I look at my work and think, "no one would really buy this. I'm not marketable." But aside from all that I've been inspired because I've finally started receiving issues of Imagine FX magazine!! These things are loaded with different artists and tips and tricks and insights. So as soon as I feel down I'm up again after looking at one of these. Anyway I do have an image. Just a sketch. I'm still thinking of something to do for a valentines themed piece and the Pepper project is still in the works. I pray that one day I figure all this out and find my direction in life.

Cheesin'

Hi everyone. Just a black and white sketch today. Hopefully I can take it to color, but I've still got another project I must do first. Money and Exposure. Key words this year cause I need both!

IF_Soar

Wooo! Been a while since I posted one of these! But here's my entry for this week's Illustration Friday. The pose was inspired by a stock image I saw on deviant art. I used Photoshop as usual.

More Painting

Hi everyone! Here's my first painting/sketch for the new year! It's kinda weird with a head floating there like that, but I like it. Wow. I'm surprised I've been producing this much work lately, granted it doesn't take that long to do at this level. I'm working on another that I hope will look more polished. As usual I used Photoshop.
